Kirsten Strand

I have been employed by Chinook’s Edge School Division since 2012, teaching 9-12 English and Social Studies at Hugh Sutherland School in Carstairs, Alberta, before transferring to teach grade 7 English at Innisfail Middle School in the 2021-22 school year. My current role as Vice Principal gives me the exciting opportunity to work with students and families from across our school. 

I love that middle school brings the excitement and energy of young minds learning about themselves, friendships, and the world. It's a special, unique time in life, and I am so grateful to be a part of our students' journeys. 

My husband and I are raising our two young children here in Innisfail and are so proud to call this community home. We love spending as much time outside as possible, taking advantage of the trail system, parks, and our amazing Alberta wilderness as often as we can. 

I am passionate about education and literacy, and love supporting young learners and lifelong readers here in my home community.
