Middle School Beginner Band

The Innisfail Middle School Beginning Band is made up of students from grades 5 - 7, as long as they are beginning a band instrument for the first time.  New this year - The group has been split into two sections, one from September until Christmas and the other from After Christmas until the end of the year.  This change was made to facilitate other complimentary choices and the ability to find out whether or not band is of interest to the students.  All French Immersion students will take this after Christmas.  Those taking band in the first part of the year that wish to continue will be asked to switch into Complimentary A and play with the Concert Band after Christmas.

Middle School Concert Band

The Innisfail Middle School Concert Band is made up of students in grades 5 - 7 who have played their instruments for one year or longer.

Jr. Jazz Band

This group meets on Monday and Wednesday mornings from 8-8:30am throughout the year. All students who are able to play their instruments at a second year level (grade 1 band music) are eligible to join.

Jr. IMPS

This group is made up of students in grades 8 and 9 that take this year long option as a class. Students from the Middle School are also welcome to join by audition. Middle School "IMPS" rehearsals are on Wednesdays at lunch. Those students play with the Jr. IMPS for concerts and festivals but not for parade. The grade level of music for this group is 1-3.

Sr. Jazz Band

This group meets Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 7:45-8:30am. Any players capable of playing the level of music required are able to join. Usually this is a more advanced group for players having more than 3 years experience. In High School students recieve 5 credits for this class.  New this year - students wanting to take Jazz Band must have the associated Concert Band course as well.

Sr. IMPS

Currently the Sr. IMPS meet on Tuesday evening's from 7-9:30pm. This group performs at least 8 times throughout the year. Any players capable of playing the level of music required are able to join. The Sr. IMPS play at a grade 3/4 musical level.
