Creating Student Active Leadership – CSAL
Innisfail Middle School is again proud to be involved in year two of the CSAL initiative.
The vision of the CSAL project is founded on the three identified pillars of health: nutrition, active living and a positive social environment. In the remaining two years, the school based CSAL projects will continue to focus on developing awareness and action in these three categories.
The targeted group for CSAL leaders is Chinook’s Edge students in grades 7 – 12. These students will be engaged in activities focused on the three pillars as they relate to our school and community. The CSAL teams will be involved in action research projects to identify the need s in their school and community and to develop a plan to create positive healthy change.
Our students will be provided with the opportunity to improve their leadership skills, leading activities that promote healthy attitudes and behaviors, and acting as mentors to older and younger students, and community members, these students will acquire important skills while benefiting their school and community.
